We are open to applications from both the UK and International students.
SHiELDS was born in 2019 from a desire to nurture and guide the next generation of talent.
After witnessing many young individuals missing out on opportunities to follow their passion of the arts, either through lack of professional guidance, location or financial hinderance... we felt there needs to be a change!
SHiELDS TV & Film Academy offers professional training, both online and in person, for talent aged between 7 - 25.
Our Academy fits perfectly alongside any other creative ventures, giving you top class professional training and personal mentoring. All led by our esteemed and highly regarded team of industry and casting professionals.
This enhances students development across all art forms as a result of our high class training and guidance.
SELF BELIEF and COMPASSION
SHiELDS creates a safe and fun environment to develop your talent and individual path. Making connections and friends who will be your cheerleaders and support in an industry that can be tough. We believe we can inspire our young people with a solid foundation of healthy resilience and care.
At the core of what we teach is a real authentic self belief and copassion for one's self and others. We are passionate advocates of mental health in the industry and approach our teaching with a real value of the wonderful uniqueness and nurturing of each individual.

What is important to us?
"SHiELDS has been a massive place of growth for me. WHO CAN JOIN SHiELDS ACADEMY?
Our Academy is accessible and open to any aspiring young actors ages 7 to 25 from all over the world.
With both 'Virtual' and 'Hybrid Mix' options, you can choose whether you'd like to learn online only or a mix of online and in person.

Those wishing to attend in person, SHiELDS Academy's home base can be found in The Customs House, South Shields, overlooking on the mouth of River Tyne.
Our Academy is open to all aspiring young actors & creatives and whilst no previous professional experience is necessary, entry is granted by Audition Only.
Applications are accepted all year round and successful applicants will be guided seamlessly into our training programme when spaces are available.
